So, I was just casually browsing a local store and came across this gem. I had picked up a STA-2200 off CL that shit the bed so I have been looking for another nice vintage reciever. I'm still bitter about that...I really liked the sound and build quality of my 2200 so when this was sitting there I knew I had to have it. 42$ later and she's mine! This thing is like brand new, there's not even any finger prints. I have no idea how something in this condition ends up at a swap shop, but I won't complain. Not even any static in the pots. Love this old Realistic stuff.
60 watts a channel at 8ohms, and I found somewhere 94 watts at 4ohms. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1429063027.929988.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1429063035.232229.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1429063042.269086.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1429063049.439421.jpg

Awesome. I used to dismiss the late 80's Radio Shack stuff, but now I realize they are good

i bought a 2280 brand new back in early '87, still own it, it's do for for good cleaning and de-ox, but has performed flawlessly all these years, no complaints here, i just bought a sta-860, another shack receiver i always wanted, which will replace my 2280 until i give the 2280 a good go over, then back into action it goes...........great score on the one you found..........:thmbsp:

I just picked up a VERY clean STA1-2280 as well as a STA-82 for $25 each . Both work great and sound incredible with my Advent bookshelf speakers and my 1978 JVC TURNTABLE!
