Hi, I wanted to contribute to this post as others have done and in my collection I have the following....

Marantz;
2230 Restored. is one of my favorites when pre is hooked up to main from the 2285

SX 750 Partially restored. Very nice tuner section.
SX 880 Partially restored.

JVC;
AX 50 Restored. Childhood amp and very nice sounding unit.

Philips;
AH 578 Partially restored.

I built the rack and it is on wheels and has about 450 pounds on it right now, also all the loudspeakers on the pic are self built and designed to match several of the receivers and all working.
I use all of them and have switch boxes to choose whatever I am in the mood of listening to at that moment.
I really like the l-30 as my favorite but the 2230 is a close second, depends on what I want to listen to for music, that will select the receiver.
The Pioneer SX 750 is very nice as well and excellent to use in combination with internet New age music channels.

Was going to sell the Technics, but I very much still like it. Just ordered new bulbs for Yamaha from David. Also ordered DeOxit, Tunerlube and Gold to clean switches and pots.

I just bought a 1040 also. I am pretty impressed with the power and sound. How do you like yours?

I purchased from original owner who is downsizing. I’m still playing with it. I like it, but am not blown away. The bulbs are though! Looks like you have LED’s. I was orig going to buy new Yamaha 801, but this 1040 came along in a pkg deal.

Luxman R-1050
Luxman R-1120
Tandberg TR-2075
Pioneer SX-1010

My favorite is the R-1120, then its little brother, and then the Tandberg. Right now, the SX-1010 is just sitting there looking blue (I need more speakers, maybe some rosewood B&W 802s or Ken Kreisel's new 7.2 system with those push/pull subs).
I like them all, though.

Gone but not forgotten:
Kyocera R-451 (I had this for 20 years, bought it new in 1985)
Yamaha CR-840
Several Kenwoods, including a money pit of a Super Eleven
Three H/K receivers
Several Onkyos
Several Denons

I admit I am tired of having the lamps replaced in these 1970s components. Gonna have to just go the LED route the next time a lamp dies.

No, they are the old incandescent lamps.

I like the ice cold clarity of the 1040. I have put several different speakers on it and loved all but one.

The only thing I dont like about it the small fonts on the face that are hard to read from above. The case should be nicer but the damn thing brings it.

I like your lamp display and can’t wait to get mine installed. Agree on the difficulty of reading the display from above and don’t believe the cabinet is solid wood. This said,it is a solid heavy unit and overall has a nice appearance. They are prone to output issues and certain parts are no longer available but it is built like a tank compared to my Technics. Also like your Realistic component! I have a small equalizer that despite missing a button or two, still works perfectly.

Very Nice. Quite the wall of vintage.

I just pulled my Kenwood KR-7600 out of mothballs and hooked it up to a Kenwood TT, the combo sounds excellent! I can't remember why I put the receiver away in the first place, other than the switches have these funny plastic outcroppings from the faceplate and several of mine are broken off, so it looks fugly, but the lights and SQ make up for it.

Let's see some Kenwood receivers!

Have had many over the years but currently my three favorite have been"
Marantz 2385
Viking SC-5814
Realistic STA-2300

Just purchased a Fisher 400. I'm new to tube receivers and was wondering where you ground your turntable? Thanks
Welcome to the posting side of AK.

Be best to post a new thread, maybe in Turntables or in Tube Forum for this question but, I would try one of the chassis screws near the bottom edge of the rear panel. If that works, it is a chassis ground, I go with that.

My first receiver was a brand new Fisher 400. Just find a screw on the metal chassis loosen and connect your ground wire there. The 400,500, and 800s were nice receivers. Enjoy and welcome to the forum! What turntable and speakers are you using?

My current receivers are:

Marantz 2270
Marantz 4270
Fisher 304
Pioneer QX 4000

The first 3 are hooked up. The Pioneer was bought from an Aker who fixed it up and sold me it at a steal price.
