recomend a yammie cd player

    Don't know about matching, but I sure enjoyed my CDX-1100u while I had it.

    I'd say avionic may be right, tho. A new one is probably in order.

    CDX-1030 was top of the line in it's time (early 90s) and built like a tank. Shouldn't be too expensive.

    Any CDX in the 400 to 1100 range is a great player. The 993 and 2000 & 2020 is where you get into the silver faces (and probably a few others too). The CDX-5000 would the ultimate match if you have the cash and can find one. You can get the 400's for cheap and they sound really nice. With some added cabinet bracing you could probably improve upon what they already do.

    I just bought a CD-S2000. I'm still evaluating it. But I've already fallen deeply in Like with it. Things will probably escalate from there.

    A new single disc Yamaha CD s300 is only about 300.00 bucks at Adorama right now and sounds great.

    There are NO replacement lasers available for vintage Yamaha players. Be warned.
