Remake better than original

Dunno if I'm spelling this right, but Ina Gadda Da Vita, Slayer covered it for the movie Less Then Zero, it really rocks.

Gov't Mule - She Said She Said, by the Beatles. Might be one of my favorite songs. I didnt even know the Beatles recorded it first till mOOn clued me in.

Stevie Ray Vaughan - Flood Down In Texas. Original by Larry Davis.

Rita Coolage - Born Under a Bad Sign - Not sure, but I think first done by Booker T.

Funny you mention Less than Zero. It had prolly the only remake im embarrassed to admit I like. The Bangles Hazy shade of winter. Yeah its pop but the original put me to sleep at least the remake makes me tap my foot.

Fitting after hearing the sad news this morning - Johnny Cash doing Trent Reznor's Hurt. I found this Cash song a little strange the first time I heard it (I love NIN's original version) but it really grew on me.

Two cover versions that, if I had been the writer/original performer, I would never, ever, perform again are:

Hurt, Johnny Cash
All Along The Watchtower, Jimi Hendrix

Honorable mention:

Down By The River, Roy Buchanan

All I can think of right now...
