Remakes That Cannot Possibly Top the Original

Heard both remakes on the radio today. Made me want to clear my brain by listening to the original versions. Don't care about the tribute and homage crap, the remakes will keep the originals off the air until they peter out and that is a real shame.

original 'Cry Little Sister' (theme from Lost Boys) was redone for the sequel. still a good song but nowhere near as good as the original.

I can think of two or three times I preferred the remake, but mostly I prefer the original. maybe just cuz I heard it first.

years ago a local dj played the original 'Locomotion' (by Little Eva?) then the remake (grand funk rr?), after which he asked 'who likes the new one?' to the sound of one person slowly clapping. Little Eva is still played, haven't heard the other forever.

Nobody can recreate the Hendrix Star Spangled Banner, or anything else he has created. THere are so many remakes to pick from I'm not even going to try. Stevie Ray is the next one in line.
