"Remote Buddy Display" app for Apple TV 4K

I just came across this thing that uses the Siri remote (which I believe is included with the Apple TV 4K) to control a Mac (that's on your home network):

I'm intrigued by it, because it seems like a good way to control a "headless" Mac Mini that you're using as a media server in your home A/V system. Of course there are other ways, such as the iTunes remote app for iOS, or screen-sharing from another OSX device. But this app is appealing, since the ATV remote is naturally part of your A/V system, whereas you may not choose to have to use an iOS or OSX device when you're in music-listening mode.

Has anyone had any experience with this app ? (Actually, I believe it's a pair of apps, because you have install a companion app on the Mac to be controlled, e.g. your Mac Mini media server).
