    Just got a brilliant idea.

My local Giant sells brass and stainless steel pot scrubbers, I use the stainless ones for my cast iron skillets when there's some particularly bad stuck on food. Am thinking that the brass ones would replace the Hakko insert? Anyone tried it? A lot cheaper and more convenient than mail ordering the real Hakko part. I ask because I'm going to need a new insert soon.

Brass pot scrubbers work like a charm.

Figured I wasn't the first person to think of this, so I'm not disappointed that I'm not the innovative genius that I thought I might be for a second, but thank you for the confirmation! I'll grab a pack next time I need milk or something.

Great tip. Now I don't have to buy the Hakko brass unit.
