resistor identification, to low for meter.

My meter is rated for 4m ohm. I want to measure a resistor (3 bands - black, yellow, silver (or grey?)).... I think it should be a 1m ohm resistor. Still attached at both ends, it shows an erratic reading on my meter.

So my meter will absolutely not measure lower than 4m ohm and will show an erratic reading correct?

Do the color bands indicate 1m ohm? (from what I am trying to learn about color coding from I don't think it does?)

thanks for the calculator. Its actually 4 band though, my eyesite is bad....

Its brown, black, yellow, silver
And that brown on the short end read left to right... silver would never be the first band.

That would be 100k correct?

So in that case, I am getting a wacky erratic reading from it. When they fail do they completely open and show infinity or will I get a crazy reading?

Its 100k, im learning on the fly here.

One end was connected to a capacitor. Measuring with it in the circuit gave the wonky reading. I disconnected one end to test again and its spot on 100k.

You also can't touch the leads when measuring, it will throw it off for the same reason.
