Restoration of Kenwood KR-9600

I've got one that's been in the family since new, still used today. Am wanting it restored, anybody have any ideas. I'm in Nebraska and willing to travel some......

Restoring one of those is very labor intensive. This receiver has a ton of caps in it. And lots of transistors.
If you're going for a full restoration,
1.) I'd be careful who I let work on it.
2.) The price will be high.
3.) I'm in CT. The prices here are outrageous in some places.
Hopefully someone in your area will chime in here.
Good luck.
Regards & Merry Christmas

"EchoWars" is in KC, but it appears he's been MIA for about 6 mos. I know there are more restorers in that neighborhood, maybe they'll chime in or send you a PM.

I actually spoke with him a year or so ago on it. Wasn't ready to do it then, am now. But yes, he's MIA, tried reaching out to him but haven't heard back.

Glenn is the one that rebuilt mine, he is the man when it comes to vintage Kenwoods. As mentioned, he has been off the air for a while though.

He's taking care of business, I heard from him Nov 10, we trade or buy parts from each other and swap notes sometimes.
