The new listening room is 12.5' x 22'x8' and was set up using 29% calculator. Gotta say it is the best room I've ever had to work with. System consists of a Magnavox 8802 amp rebuilt and modded following Dave G's excellent write up on here, thats feeding a pair of rebuilt and upgraded Klipsch Chorus II speakers. Sources consist of a rebuilt Yamaha T-85 tuner, an Apple Airport, a heavily modded Empire 598 TT with Rek-o-Kut S-990 tonearm and original 4000D/III cartridge with an LP Gear ViVid Line replacement stylus, also a rebuilt Denon DP-37F with an Audio-Technica AT440MLB cartridge. My previous setup for part of this system is also on here as a 1977 tribute room. Hope you find it interesting and appealing. IMGP7125.jpg

Sweet Rig. I love my Chorus II's and I did the Crites upgrade route as well. I have to think they would sound better pushed closer to the walls. If you are happy with the sound that is all that matters, enjoy the music and the retirement.

Here is an AudioTools FFT 1/3 octave sweep from seated position. I'm pretty happy with the results. Imaging is excellent and lifelike, sound completely fills the entire first floor with great sound.

Fantastic! Glad you ended up with a good audio situation after setting up your new room. Enjoy your retirement! :music:

Updates to my two channel system, I’ve switched the amp to a heavily modded SoundCraftsmen A2801 (same as the A2505 sans the attenuators and LED meters), added a matching rebuilt DX4000 pre amp. Digital source is now a 2012 Mac mini and a Schitt Modi III DAC. Also added Ekornes Stressless chair and Sennheiser HD600 for headphone listening. An area rug for the hardwood floor now rounds out the room acoustics.

Very nice!

Love those blinds - never seen anything like them before.

Are those marshmallows on your turntable?

Ah, just the things I have in stock...really! Thanks for the idea ;) I was thinking of getting a piece of granite and using similar pucks, but like your idea better.

Of course, SWMBO will wonder where her cutting board got to :whip:

Here is a view towards the listing area and a better one of the platter. I use an iPad to control a headless Mac mini music server. Recently put up a rooftop antenna for improved FM listening, quite a few good local stations nearby.
