I am interested in having one installed on our Honda Odyssey.

Dealer price is > $1K.

My mechanic has no experience with them.

I see after market options priced all over the place.

Thanks for any info.

Friend just had one put in his pickup at the local truck accessory place. It was about half that price and works great. The only problem was the screen needed to go up by the rear view mirror, and the double stick tape wouldn't stay stuck to the plastic screen base. Tried all manner of cleaning and roughing up, but no joy. Being a machinist, he machined a thin aluminum plate and screwed it to the plastic base. Double stuck that to the windshield and it's stayed stuck ever since.

I've considered one as a DIY installation for my 1999 Ford Taurus wagon. Since my chair partially blinds rear view, it would likely be helpful.

I have a factory one on our other car (standard equipment) , and I gotta say I would not want to go back to not having it.
