RIP Evan Johns

Looks like we lost another local- to- me guitar ace. Evan Johns was a colorful man and friend to many, inside and outside the music biz. For those who are unfamiliar with him I will link to wiki

I saw him many times with Danny Gatton, usually as Evan Johns and the H Bombs..Always incredible...usually at the Marble Bar, or the 8x10...btw Gatton is the , " man that guitar player sure can play" from the Little Feat song...
This was an amazing guitar scene in the area at its peak...Kirchen, Principato, Buchannon, Gatton, Johns, Paul Reed Smith, Woolridge, and about a million more in the DC / Baltimore vicinities..

Sorry for the loss, grillebilly. Seemed to be a heck of a person.

I didn't know him personally but we both grew up together in the same area at the same time. By all accounts a good good guy and fun to hang out with. A huge part of the area music scene.

So sorry to hear this. Evan was a great guy.
I had a few chances to interact with him while I was playing in the house band at a club here in town back in the 80's. We opened for him and the H-bombs a couple of times and he was always very cordial.
