I take it you are thinking about swaps?
If so, you probably shouldn't have limited it to our reference systems.
I also have lots of 300Bs, 2A3s, 10s. 5Y3s, 6X5s, 5AR4s 6SN7s 6SL7s, 6EM7s, 27s and probably others lying around.
So what is the purpose?
Most of the interest seems to be in the run of the mill tubes.

Jack

I use 300B, 6sl7, cv378 and 12au7's in my "front line stuff".

After giving most of my tubes away...I'm left with my main tubes and 6sl7, 6sn7, only a couple mix and match 2A3, only 3 10y's, 26's, 27's, 76's among of few others.

Have you tried grey writing on a grey background ?
Some of us haven't gone completely blind yet trying to read the green.:p:

Thanks! For the forseeable future, though, my efforts will go towards the taking the Heath as far as I can get them.

Main system amp:

300B - AVVT mesh pair
6L6 - GE 5881pair
6SN7 - Tungsol 6SN7GT 1951 pair
5Z3 - Tungsol 1940's
6X5 - National Union 6X5GT/G 1940's

I keep 15 pairs of 300B around, AVVT mesh, EML, KR. There are 60 or so pairs of 6SN7 for this one, pretty much nothing after 1960, about 50 pairs of 6L6 and 6V6 - mostly 350B's, 6L6G,s, again - nothing after 1960. Tons of 5Z3 and 6X5.

Second system amp:

EML solid plate 45 pair, Tungsol 1949 6SN7GT pair, Sylvania 83 rectifier

I have about 35 pairs of 45 - NOS Globes solid & mesh, some ST's, then a big stash of EML pairs. Again about 60 pairs of 6SN7 for this one, no post 1950's crap, and about 40 rectifiers either NOS mercury vapor 83's or globe 80's.

I don't use preamps anymore as I found they detract from the sound, and I gave up on DACs with tube buffers as I found they cause a loss of dynamics, impact and realism.

Jack / Robert

Jack, actually I used the colored type to highlight, but I realize how that could be difficult to read - opps!

Robert, not trying to be funny, but considering your vast collection somehow I think our little project wasn't intended for you.

I've been tinkering with a new amp with 6BM8s and a 5AR4/GZ34 rectifier, at work. Came with "generic Chinese" tubes; I've located a "motley crew" of various vintage 6BM8s (couple of Amperex, a Realistic and an International Servicemaster) to try. I've not been that impressed with the tonal balance of this amp yet... kinda midrangy (not much bottom or top end). Hoping rolling some other tubes in it may help...

Anyone got a "matched" set of vintage 6BM8s out there (ie, all the same brand and type), who might like to trade for something else? I've got a bunch of NOS 6SN7s, a few 6AV6s, a pair of 7355s, and the like for potential trade...

Regards,
Gordon.

Are you planning on telling us soon?

I have an ASL MG-Head OTL that uses 2 EL84s and one 12AX7

I have an AOpen motherboard that uses one 6922/ECC88 in the onboard sound card.

A British Mullard is my tube of choice :)

Damn! Late as usual!

Anyone heard of a GZ32? 5Z4PX1? 5V4G? rectifier..
