Very Happy with the amp, I have owned 2 sets of Dynaco Mk3, 1 set of mk4, 2 original st 70, and a couple custom builds based on the dynaco design and to my memory this Dynaco in Direct Connection Sounds better than any previous. The comparison is not fair in that all those previous ran through / with a pre-amp. Taking the pre-amp out made a world of difference

Preamps are often where good sound dies, I generally avoid them for a passive controller.
The exceptions have been a CJ Motif MC-9 and a Nelson Pass B-1.
