Samsung S5 with Schiit Modi - no sound

So I've tried 2 different USB OTG cables and nothing other than the Modi's LED lighting up.

Used the Samsung S7 with one of the OTG adapters and this combo works like a champ.

So am I missing an Android setting? My S5 is being relegated to a WIFI only device now that I have the S7.

I did contact Schiit support as well for their feedback as tile S5->OTH->Modi should work.

Is the Modi Usb-powered? Try a powered usb hub in between if so.

Yes it is. Might have a really old one. S7 with its supplied adapter works flawlessly.

Not all phones are created equal in terms how much current they allow from the Usb. Newer phones are definitely more accommodating.

Understood. Looking into wall wart powered USB hubs right now.

Schiit Wyrd is better option after you determine a powered hub helps.
