Sansui 5000 FM Output Level Low & Input Selector Popping

Hello.

Two issues with this device:

1) FM output sound level low

TAPE = excellent, PHONO = excellent, AUX = excellent, AM = seems OK...

FM/FM STEREO = not very loud, example 25% volume setting on any of the other inputs is comfortably loud, 25% on FM is barely audible. Signal meter shows 3-4/5 and TUNE meter is dialed in.

Homemade FM antenna (10 ft of speaker wire split bi-pole style)...

What could be the cause of this?

Can I fix it myself?

Could it be my antenna?

Could the tuner need alignment?

2) The input selector switch pops loudly when switching from AUX to FM to...any input...

I blew the thing out with compressed air and DeOx'd the device...but the selector dial does not seem to be a POT. Perhaps I did not clean it correctly?

Other than that...the thing rocks...very nice...clean and seemingly all original unit.

Please help a new guy out.

Thanks in advance for any guidance.
