Sansui 500A output tube problem

From what I've been able find online, the only output tubes usable are true 7189As due to the high voltage. No using EL84s? If so that's an expensive bummer.

Try the Sovtek EL-84M. I use them in my FISHER gear that beats up on EL-84 types. There are a couple guys here who have 500a's. Not exactly sure what they are using but the 84M's do good on my TA-600 with 400V plates. There's also the 6n14n-EB or 6P14P-EV (depending on whether you use cryllic or latin lettering.)
