Sansui 771 FM section of tuner Channel Out

The tuner equivalent of unearthing the city of Pompeii...Wouldn’t it be nice if all I had to do was reflow the solder points in that little circuitboard and all would be well…? (It didn’t work)

Well I continued to excavate and test the capacitors on either side. The four green poly caps test OK and I’ve noted their values on the image. There were two foil caps that initially test with values and then go open after about five or 10 seconds on my multimeter. I am not sure what the four cylindrical devices are in the center of the circuitboard.

Thanks! Yes this one is larger than some of the others I’ve seen in other Sansui 771’s...its an early production unit from 1973.

I have a couple from an old Scott receiver that are smaller and just have input, output and ground. Should be easy to wire in. I'll see what else I have. I know I have seen those big boys before. Maybe i have them.
