Sansui a7 left channel trouble

Hi all,
I have recently purchased an A7 amplifier and the left channel output is not as loud as the right. I have cleaned all the pots and the volume/balance knobs nut nothing has changed . I can equal out the volume if I adjust the balance but I don't really want to go down that road. Any idea what the cause could be ?

In most cases it's caused by dirty controls. Just because you cleaned them doesn't mean they are clean. Did you clean the speaker/protection relay contacts? It could also be the left and right wafers in the volume pot aren't tracking together.

i'm a bit of a novice at this, where abouts would i find the relay contacts ? are they quite obvious to find.

According to the schematics - the A-7 does not have a speaker/protection relay

Also, what product are you using to clean parts of the amplifier? - you say you have 'cleaned all the pots', please explain in more detail.
