Sansui AU-6900 after sleeping for 15 years

Hello everyone,
Today I got this beautiful model in very good condition, but has been kept in an empty house in Valencia for 15 years, the owner lives in Australia and has come to sell the house. This old Sansui worked perfectly, he says. I was lucky to travel only 120 miles by car.
After 15 years, what is the best way to turn it on again? I read that it is better to use a variac but I do not have one .... any advice?

Nice unit, requires cleaning. I have owned this before, comparison with AU 7900,found AU 6900(rare) has more bass compare to AU 7900. Both are very nice unit.

Nice find. Time to wake up this Sleeping Beauty! I'm guessing you don't have a variac so the next best thing is a Dim Bulb Tester. Start with a 60w bulb.
