I have a Sansui AU-7900 in which the red power indicator LED is shorted!! This is a first for me. I have always been surprised that I have never come across this issue.

At any rate before I go searching the Mouser catalog can anyone who has already experienced this please recommend a suitable replacement that will fit perfectly? This LED mounts flush with the faceplate and has a flat, not domed (radius) lens.

    Thank You!!

Is the base wider than the part that fits in the hole? If so, I don't believe they make them any more.

If it's just flat. perhaps you could file down a rounded one and polish it.

Any chance you can post a pic of the LED removed from the faceplate?

Yes the base is wider (flange). I found some on eBay so I'll report back after i receive them.

If you get stuck, you could always use a white led to illuminate the dead red led from behind.......
