My Sansui AU 707 and AU 717 are all having an issue with DACs, the first time that I hook up Topping D-30 DAC to the 717, the DAC was almost fired and cause the amp to go into protection mode, and I have tried with different DAC as well including Schiit and SMSL, but over time they all are having issues. I tried to ask this in the DAC forum, but not answered, I am thinking is there a filter or something that I can put between the amp and the DAC so this will work?

Which input on the amplifiers are you using to connect the DAC? - it wouldn't be 'Power Amp In' by any chance would it?

I use AUX and is afraid to try again. These DACs works with later Sansuis, AU-D907X and AU-D907F Extra all work fine.

Are you turning on the DAC after the amplifier is powered on or before?

Try turning on the amplifier last, or with the input (AUX) not selected when powering on.
