Sansui AU719 Mod discovered !

Hi members,
I discovered that my Sansui AU719 has some kind od modification on the aux input.
Its a 50k stereo pot.
I only want your opinion what kind of sense this mod can make?
To decide if I keep it or throw it out!

it looks like a potentiometer to limit the line input, for example in case of connecting a CD player. According to the service manual the tuner, tape and aux inputs have a sensitivity of 200 mv, currently the CDs can reach up to 2 volts, but it is only a guess, it is a strange solution..

That's not a 'Mod' that's a 'Hack' get rid of it - it may be attempting to cover up an issue that the hacker couldn't resolve.
