Just got my Sansui I bought awhile back. Amp was a basket case. Preamp was unmolested. I am not a technical guy on the inner workings of electronics. So I can't give a detailed description of the rebuild. I bought this amp and preamp off Craigslist for $300 knowing the amp was fried and someone attempted to fix it. After taking it somewhere else for repair, I found Ed Brown in Apollo Beach, FL. After talking with Ed, and understanding about 10% of what he was saying, I just wanted it done right. After a few weeks, I could not be happier. The amp sounds fantastic. I have only played it with a pair of ADS L910's, and probably won't be playing it with anything else. I have other speakers to pair with it (HPM 100's/ L1230's), but I doubt they will sound any better. Ed replaced the main power caps in the BA 2000 with Mundorfs. He replaced so much in that amp I couldn't begin to remember it all. It was in a garage in Ohio through the winters and had a bunch of hands in it at some point. I've uploaded some pics of the work that was done and parts replaced. If you need work done on stereo equipment, I highly recommend Ed Brown in Apollo beach, FL (813-600-3072). Ed is meticulous and extremely knowledgeable. He will not take shortcuts and is not interested in end a rounds. I can't thank him enough. Thanks Ed!
