picked up a sansui g9700 and a pioneer sa9500 amp this
summer for 50 bucks for the pair.they are in great shape
but both volume controls are noisy.i cannot seem to get
any cleaning fluid inside the switches, they are sealed
very well, any tricks on how to get fluid into them.

Some here have used a Dremel to *carefully* drill a *tiny* hole in the potentiometer housing, and drop DeOxIt through the hole. A couple of the people with SX-1250's had to do this, the SA-9500 may have a similar pot and I'd hazard the Sansui does as well since they both sourced pots from Alps.

Congrats on STEALING those two excellent, substantial pieces.
Both are great pieces of gear, and would benefit & BE WORTH having a good tech guy go through them.
I have had the G-9700, and it is both gorgeous and a darn good receiver, right up there with the big boys with its 200 wpc and exceptional tuner section.
I have had one of the ancestors of the SA-9500, and man-oh-man are those Pioneer integrateds nice units!

BTW, I moved the thread to Exclusively Sansui because it didn't seem to be getting noticed.
