Where to get schematics

Start at my page: http://www.audiophool.cjb.net/Techno.html - I have links to many online sources, and would welcome any additional ones.

Sams Photofacts are the best for 1946 and later - they have a schematic, parts list, photos to identify parts. I have a thousand or so, most pre-1960 not a very complete collection. The online index at http://www.samswebsite.com/photofact/pf_search.asp is not the greatest - you're better off finding someone with a paper index or downloading the (17 MB) home version at http://www.servicesoftware.com/sams.asp - there are also text and pdf versions of the index on the Sams site if you look around. An even better one (going back to the '20s!) is here: http://techpreservation.dyndns.org/USL_FILES/index.html - it searches not only Sams, but Beitmans and Riders as well. Beitmans and Riders are available online at http://www.nostalgiaair.org and http://techpreservation.dyndns.org/ respectively.

Now that you have the Sams folder number, where to get it? Try your library first - many can get copies from a central library. It's $25 or so from Sams (pre-'64 ones are $7), but there are lots of copies around - remember, every TV shop had a subscription back in the days when things got repaired... some online sources:

(Caveat: I've only dealt with the first two...). And there's always eBay...

Thanks for all you do Tom. You have helped me more than once (without even knowing it). Your efforts are much appreciated :thmbsp: Jay

Tom has been a valuable resource for all the tube heads here and especially tube newbys like myself. Thanks for all the info and helpful advice! :tresbon:

Originally from JBpollock.

"I was at an EZ Pawn store today in Houston today looking to see what they had and decided to poke my head in an electronics repair store next door. Well, i was greeted by a tube tester on top of a cabinet full of tubes and a repairman who said that tube type equipment is their favorite type of equipment to repair. Haven't had anything worked on there yet, but am thinking of taking my Duynaco tuner there fr a recap job.

Golden Tube Audio SE 40 Schematics

Sorry to post this here but does anyone know where to find schematics for a Golden Tube Audio SE 40 Amplifier?

Hickok 752 tube tester

Recently purchased this tester. It's in remarkable shape and completely unmodified. Tested several tubes, things seemed fine. I noticed the scroll chart bulb was burnt out so i replaced it with the same wattage bulb. Now the line fuse lamp comes on slightly. Not bright like the manual say incase of an overload but has a slight red glow. Is this normal? If i remove the scroll chart bulb this doesnt happen. Also, are any calibration docs out there? I've look a long time and have found nothing. Any help i'd appreciate.

Thanks
