Score!! 2 pairs of vintage KLHs !

nitrous

96 dB freak!
On the way to the supermarket this morning, I spotted a "Moving Sale"
sign on a telephone pole. Decided to take a look. The house was crawling with
tons of ppl. Had to park around the block. Fought my way through hoards of ppl, found the seller, asked for old hi-fi equipment, the reply was a shrug, and was directed to the basement. Looking, looking ,looking through the haze of junk, spotted one KLH 5 w/ the grill pulled off, then 2 beautiful KLH Model 15 speakers; looked harder and spotted the 2nd KLH 5 camouflaged. Fought my way upstairs, found the seller and asked to buy both pairs. Price? $30 for all 4! And she told me that she sold a Heathkit amp/rcvr that she built 45 years ago a few days earlier. Oh well, $30 for 2 perfectly working pairs of KLH speakers in one morning ain't too bad, is it?

Now that's a good story with a great ending.
Have you had a chance to audition them yet? Inquiring minds and all that.

Yes!

TA, all drivers work in both pairs of speakers! Believe it or not!
The moral of this story: it pays (sometimes) to take a few minutes to check out "moving sales."

Even if it takes more than a few minutes.

I saw you were all over that local area DH-500. Congrats. Hope it's not a Montauk Point pick-up.

I haven't bought a digital camera yet. Still researching 'em.
If I had one, I'd have a ton of jpgs to post. Eventually, soon.....

and DH-500 isn't in Montauk Point (Whew!)
