Hi all,
I have a pioneer sg-9800 which seems to hiss with the volume down on my amp (sa-9800). I know it's not the amp because the hiss dissapears when the eq is eliminated. Could there be any bad transistors, for I thought this eq is supposed to be super quiet? Any suggestions? :dunno:

Thanks,
Derek

Still can hear hiss!

Very low hiss can still be heard even after cleaning contacts and changing cables!
Do any of you have a service manual for these eqs, or any idea what it could be?

When you say "clean contacts" are you saying you did not clean the slide controls and all switches? or just the rca jack surfaces? I would do everything just to eliminate all possibilities.

It's been cleaned inside and out including the sliders. I Pulled it apart again and noticed one cap has a tiny bubble on it. Could this be the culprit?

Any ideas?
Derek
