More Sansui goodness.
My Sansui QA-7000 in remarkably nice shape, and my first quad amp.
May as well jump in with both feet. Recent Sansui owner, picked op these for rather short money. The 881 is working just fine, the Seven not so much.
Pre-amp section works fine, amp is barely audible.
Looking for a mint SE-8 or 9 equalizer to finish it off.
How’s it sound? I’m interested in the older Sansui models which some say have a more tube like sound quality.
love the sound, playing it through a pair of Polks and Klipsch Fortes. Big , room filling sound.
Oh my GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My Sansui collection is growing. Top to bottom: SD-7000, RA-500, 5000x, 9090, CA/BA 2000. Philips 212 TT. Everything works great except a background buzz from the 9090, undiagnosed cause within the preamp.
My AU-9900 and TU-9900 are not pictured because I need to do some work to the tuner. I hope I don't find any more deals... I can't help myself. I got rid of my 5050 a couple months ago, as hard as it was to do.
Hi everybody. I don't know if I should be asking this here, but does anyone know what these speakers are? Build year? Quality? Ohms? Watts? I have an opportunity to pick them up, along with a partially functioning DA-T500, for $40, but can't find anything about the speakers online.
It just says Multi Speaker System EX Series on the face of the cab.
Thought I'd ask in a Sansui thread, as someone might have seen them before or have a bit of info on them.
I don't know them, should be at least 1986 or later. Normally I'd say, go for it. Price is very low for the combo.
On the other hand it looks like the Mid-speaker isn't original - selfmade at that place. But may be its only the poor quality of the picture. The single chassis at least should be readily sellable for more than 40 bucks.
Thanks for the response aileenamegan.
You pretty much read my mind. On closer inspection it does look like it's been doctored and/or butchered. That's a shame. I think I'll give them a miss. I'd rather pay a bit more for something in better condition.
...Doctored... we have the same expression in German. Very interesting
Might be the best to look for another, better occasion.
Lots of really nice equipment guys !!!!
Here is my little collection both rescue adoptions
The 350 is from 1969 which makes it my oldest ss
Lovely old fella's. Their sound is always amazing me. Especially with old KEF's or Tannoy's.
Actual pics of two beauties - nice toys.
NFS - you're absolutely right
Hello everybody I am delighted to again have in my possession a Sansui amp/receiver, having had to part with my AU-9500 this winter due to life circonstances. I have just purchased a model 2000! It is not here yet but I can't wait! I feel like a child on christmas eve. lol
Will post pics once I receive it. For now, all I have is those poor ones from the Ebay listing. it does not have the wood casing but I do not mind, I got it at a good price. it will need some TLC(and there is a bulb in the display that needs replacement) but I send all my newly acquired amps to the tech anyway, so this will be no different. It comes with the original box and receipt though, which is pretty cool!
To get a complete, fully package is always a special pleasure. Congrats!
Thank you I'm pretty happy about finding one at that price (the box is a cool bonus!). The 2000x models locally(and online) were all $100 CAD more, so I thought I would give a shot at the plain 2000.
Besides, I like it's aesthetics almost as much as the 2000x and 2000a
Its a good choice. A very fine sounding receiver - over all sources. Not even worser than the successors. You will enjoy it.
