Talking about L100's on steroids, a friend brought these to me a while back. They're still sitting at my place of business waiting for my new living space to be complete.

Very nice! Are they 10” woofers and passives or 12’s?

I've had and sold a bunch of JBLs over the years ... Bought some L-36 Decades new in 1976 'cause I could not afford the L-100s at the time.
Around 2002 I discovered eBay and won a pair of 4320 (2 way) monitors in Philly! My first pair of speakers with horns! I later moved the parts into L200 cabinets, which looked nice, added JBL slot tweeters and made them into 3-ways. Somewhere just after the start of that, I found a pair of 4341 4-way blue-faced studio monitors in Lancaster PA. and brought them home, planning to replace the L200s with them I moved the L200s upstairs and set up a 2 ch music-only system so I could sell them, then we discovered my upstairs "plant room" was the best sounding room in the house - and my wife asked if we could keep them! That began a 7 year process that culminated in L200 3 ways with walnut smith horns and 2441 drivers, running on integrated tube amp. Very sweet.

At one point I ran the studio monitors in biqamped mode with a JBL/UREI electronic crossover and a pair of JBL/UREI pro amps. I started adding more speakers for surround sound downstairs. Got some L100Ts for side surrounds, had L-20Ts for rear surrounds (they're up in my office now) L100T3s, and tried many other JBL models. The Monitors were really overkill and fussy, so I decided to simplify and over time, I sold off most of the JBLs downstairs. I discovered "imaging" and bought some pairs of DCM Timeframe speakers, ran the theater system on them, then tried Vandersteens. Finally, I discovered UREI 809 (they have "time-aligned" 12 inch JBL duplex/coaxial drivers). I found a 2nd pair - and that's been our multimedia system these days. In late 2016 I found a pair of L212 "towers" and got them working in short order. They are upstairs in the Plant room on the tube amp.

Now I've started playing with ALTEC speakers - got some Model 15s, and have Heathkit Altec/ Valencias to work next!

Pictures?

And here's the UREI 12 inchers down in the TV room (The drivers are actually JBL woofers and drivers)
(there is another pair for side surrounds, and a JBL 4641 18" sub in the front right corner)

If the seller doesn't renig..., hope to pick these up on Saturday... assuming they are perfect when I see them; three 15s and two 10s.

The 15s may just replace the AlNiCo 2235s in my HT system. They go lower (and even higher) than the 2235s, with a smoother response.

Arrrggg!

One of the 10s and one of the 15s have a burnt coil. I was really looking towards putting the 10s in a couple Heil cabinets I have.

As a teenager in the mid 70's, there was an arcade that we used to frequent that had a set of these. They were flown, mounted in the back corners of the long rectangle room, facing the large plate glass windows facing the street. They were fed by a couple of large Crown power amps. I recall there being an FM tuner in the system, but 98% of the time it was used for playing LP's. They had a Thorens and a record collection that probably numbered 600 or so. One of the best sounding hi-fi's I've ever heard, they could really crank it up when they wanted to. I got to be friends with one of the 2 owners. I remember him saying he couldn't believe it when his partner bought this for the business, along the lines of "what was he thinking?" That system left a life long lasting impression.

Here are a few of mine, they seemed to get bigger with time. I still have the "L100" and the L250.

L80T3, the first pair of JBLs I owned, and the ones that got me hooked.

My L100/L100T hybrids. This was the result of having some L100t spare parts lying around, and then finding a pair of L100s with missing and bad drivers. Basically just the 104h and 035 plus the crossover and binding posts from the L100T, with a Zilch-plugged L100 cabinet with the original L100 woofers. This is a combo that, in theory, probably shouldn't work that well. I absolutely love these speakers, and have kept them over a pair of L112 and L150a, there is just something I like about them.

I decided to snap a pic of Decade-Century-Millennium.

And the L250, which will hopefully be upgraded to 250ti one day.
