Shure V15IV

There's a 'new in box' Shure V15 type IV cartridge for sale on ebay. I did a quick search to try and get an idea of value and discovered that the type IV seems to be MIA.

The online dealers don't list the stylus as a replacement - they list the type III and the type V, but nobody lists the type IV. Even the shure site doesn't mention it except in its timeline of development. If you do a search for V15IV on the site it comes back with no results and 'Did You Mean: v15v'.

Does anyone know why the type IV has been disowned? Is the ebay cartridge worth watching and bidding on? - particularly if replacement stylii can't be found.

Cuz they no longer manufacture the stylus. Even the other older type II an III's are soon to run out.

I'd be pretty sceptical of a "NIB" Type IV. Very sceptical.

No replacment stylus either (and please, let's not revisit the 'Type III stylus on a Type IV cart' thing).

Want a good Shure cart but don't want to shell out $200+ for the Type V? The M97xE is a better cart than the Type IV any day, and can be had for $85 or so.
