Skyline Diffuser Calculator

Hello All,

I would like to make a diffuser panel for my listening room. Following some advise that I found online.....Ethan Winer has suggested that 800 Hz to 3 or 4 KHz should be a good range to tune a skyline diffuser to. Problem being is that when I plug this range into a calculator I get a huge diffuser with 6 foot long pieces!!!

What am I missing here?????

For convenience sake here is a calculator.

Thanks David

My understanding of diffusers is that they are tuned to narrower frequency ranges (i.e. upper- bass , lower- mid, high-mid...etc)....then they can have some "scattering" effect outside of their tuned range.

38 pieces [1] 204.25 cm 38 pieces [2] 408.50 cm
40 pieces [3] 645.00 cm 15 pieces [4] 322.50 cm
Total 15.80 meter

645cm is like 21 feet long!
