So, I may end up targeting a good upgrade set for my speakers finally.

I did a little searching, and I may have put together a decent upgrade set for my speakers for less than a new pair of 301s for the whole thing combined, at $269.29 combined total, and it could work fairly well for a basic proper multichannel setup. Total combined wattage would be 320w*, which should be enough for a small room like the one I'm targeting.

Fronts: Min11s for $65. http://www.ebay.com/itm/SWEET-Sound...646744?hash=item1a2a595318:g:LiUAAOSw5UZY-rHs

Center and rears: 3-pack Min7s for $49.99. http://www.ebay.com/itm/THREE-ONE-P...sh=item3d3a69cac7:g:2vgAAOSw-3FZD7ir#shpCntId

Sub: YST-SW216 for $129.95. https://www.amazon.com/YST-SW216-Wa..._feature_keywords_three_browse-bin:6813100011

Cables: grand total of $24.35. https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics...94494085&sr=1-1&refinements=p_89:AmazonBasics https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics...94494094&sr=1-2&refinements=p_89:AmazonBasics

*50w x2 = 100w for the fronts, 40w x3 = 120w for the center and rears, and a 100w sub.

UPDATE: I hit a little snag in the original plans and thus had to modify them a bit, I snagged the Min11s up right before the sale ended, but the Min7 trio was already sold, so instead I snagged up another pair of Min11s for the rears, and a single Min7 for the center. Also, wire is due tomorrow at 8pm, while the four Min11s are due on the 19th and the single Min7 is due three days later.

Wattage is a function of the amplifier driving the speakers, not the speakers themselves (with the exception of the subwoofer which contains it's own amplifier).:)

UPDATE #2: All five speakers came in on the same day today, I have them hooked up, and it's a success so far, these things are ridiculous for their size, I had it turned up to 40 on the dial, on an analog input with PLII Music processing added, and it was already rocking the house!

Also, Min7's the perfect size for a center channel.

Did you mean Bose 301's? A lot of people like them but not me. Anyways, Miniimus 7 is a nice speaker. I might have gone for the Minimus 77 instead of the 11 because of the cloth dome tweeter. Look out for foam rot. BTW, shorthand is hard to follow. Try to use the full model name.

I mainly went for the Minimus 11 because of being bigger than the 7 and better-suited towards use as front and rear channels in a 5ch setup.
