Since everything today is about the BASS NO TREBLE I have digging thru my music libray for great songs with a Bass line. I hit upon 99 Luft Ballons and anything by Andy Frasier from Free being that he was 16 years old when they broke. Also love Hot Chocolate You Sexy Thing! Any others out there that I should check out. Thanks

Pretty much any Motown track with session great James Jamerson. Unfortunately, all those great house band musicians were mostly uncredited on those records.

Edit: louisjames beat me to it. Duck was great, too.

Besides the obvious (Bootsy Collins), I'll make a plug for Ronnie Wood playing a killer bass line that weaves in and out of Jeff Beck's guitar on "Let Me Love You" off of Truth.

I really like the bass line on "Dreams" from the Fleetwood Mac Rumors album. It's nice and warm yet reasonably tight with a kick drum that goes very deep.
