sony amp no sound

hi there folks I have a sony ta ax310 amp it began to crackle on moving volume control and now no sound coming out of speakers at all checked speakers their ok and speaker cable their all fine can anyone me please help me out ? hope it's not a big fix it powers u fine all lights are working many thanks

Check out "The Idiot's Guide to Using Deoxit" post at the top of this page. Particularly numbers #5 & #7. Hope this helps.

Deoxit would be my first step. Using contact cleaner on knobs and switches solves a lot of problems!

Sometimes you can reach everything from the bottom. Sometimes the bottom panel can be removed independently, but often you have to first remove the case that is behind the front panel.

If the speaker relays are tripped, this means there is something wrong in the amp. These relays function as a circuit breaker in your house.

That is, they trip to protect your speakers from potential damage.

There is no simple fix. If these relays are tripped you need to find someone knowledgable about circuit analysis and repair.
