Sony PS X600 tonearm issue...has anyone ever seen this?

My Sony PS X 600 bio tracer just developed a fatal? flaw...the tonearm rockets across the vinyl all the way to the spindle...It ruined my stylus...it was working flawlessly for years before turning it on the other morning and have this (see short video) happen....has anyone ever seen this behavior and does anyone have any thoughts on how to attack this problem....thanks in advance for any suggestions...ps...I am trying to upload a MOV file showing this action ...its very small but I cannot upload it for some reason but if you paste the link it will come up

photobucket is down...I have changed the URL 5 times for that vid and it only works for an hour or so...no...the cartridge and stylus were brand new

Wow, that's bizarre. I have one that I gifted to a friend, but it never did anything like that.

The circuitry that controls the arm is brutally complicated, so, difficult to diagnose. I noticed you returned the arm manually...is it not possible to have it return on its own?
