Looking for advice on making a speaker grill frame. It's gotta be cheap, easy to build and relatively lightweight. The frame will be 54" X 30" so take that into consideration. My other question is what's the best method for attaching said frame to my speakers?

My old wharfdales use a masonite like material (like pegboard) with openings for each driver and velcro for attaching. That's got to be cheap!

Parts Express has the ball -in socket grill mounts. Router and a piece of MDF will make it to the size you want.

I used to have a link on building speaker grills but lost it.

pull the cloth and use a hot glue gun. trim and your done.

Mike,

You don't want to make a baffle barrier on that horn so basically all you can make is a wooden frame the same size as the edges of the plywood sides bottom and top of the cabinet IMO. That means a rectangle fabricated from hardwood rectangular or square stock with a brace or two across it with round dowel. Use the PartsExpress anchors described by jerrymrc. Attach the grille cloth with hot glue.
