I bought a pair of Swedish made "Sinus" speakers at an estate sale. They are large floor standing speakers in walnut veneer cabinets. Does anyone know anything about them? Thanks.

Orion B/B has 4 pair listed, all made in '78. They ranged in price from $275 upto $1200...

Hmm. :scratch2: Intriguing. I've never heard of that brand. How much did you get them for, and might you post some pics when you get the chance? Oh, and do please tell us how they sound.;)

Cheers.

They sound good but one has a bad woofer. Looks like I wasted $30. They look like vintage AR 1's.

I wouldn’t say you necessarily wasted your money yet.
You may be able to save them. Here are a couple links
that might give you a little more info about the company.
The company itself doesn’t have a website. They mostly
supplied other companies with drivers.

A list of links, Just scroll down to Sinus

I thought this was a bit amusing when apparently
someone made this statement.

Quote: Industry professionals say this about us:
"The only problem with Rauna and Opus3 speakers are that they are 20 years ahead of their time, and consumers don't know what is good for them". - Buy Rauna speakers today and you have solved your speaker problems for the rest of your life.

Thanks for your help. I emailed Sinus but I never got a response. I see that their replacement woofers are pretty expensive. If the euro is about a dollar, then to replace both the woofers would be $250, and thats not including shipping and tax.
The speaker guru in Seattle says he can probably fix the bad one for $50 so I'm going to give that a try.
