Stepped attenuator

Goodmorning, some of the forumers have experience to the power amps attenuators?
Is possible to change the volume pots od Mc2205 or 2300 (example) with a stepped attenuator like these?

The maybe are 250KOhm linear ptentiometers.

Sure ,it's possible to replace your amps gain control pots with stepped attenuators ,but why ,what's the benefit ,for me stepped attenuation is a serious put off ,I have pro amps I live with stepped attenuation but only because I run them through a Marshall preamp & don't need to adjust gain levels .

The older amps used garden variety carbon track pots, upgrading them with switch point steppers is someting I would do if was using vintage Mac amps.
