After lurking here a few days I decided to take a trip to the thrift store and see if there was anything worth while.
Everything was junk, things you would be hard pressed to pay $1.00 for. But I did see 2 fairly large speakers sitting on the floor. I asked someone there if they worked and he said "no, someone plugged a guitar into them earlier and all they did was make a hum sound."
I went home, got an amp and a DVD player and headed back. I hooked up the speakers and they worked fine. so I bought them for $37.50.
The speakers are:
Fisher STV 889
I hooked them up and some old Optimus speakers in the basement to my old Denon pma 980r and a CD player. An ok setup for working out.
