My super-cool uncle has promised to gift me his cosmetically nice SX-1050 (it might even be a 1080, but I think it is 1050) and it needs a servicing. When I visited him last fall I tried to turn it on but the switch was stuck in the off position. He then proceeded to tell me it hasn't been powered on in nearly a decade - so good thing the switch is stuck.
It therefore needs a diagnosis and likely servicing, two skills I do not possess for this level of receiver. Nor do I even own a variac. I'm located in Philly and was wondering if there's anyone in the area that would be willing and able to take a look and bring this baby back to life? Or maybe make a recommendation for Philly-area shops that perform high quality work that would do the receiver justice? Wouldn't be until the summer when I visit him again and have the chance to pick it up. But wanted to start the conversation now. Thanks.
