SX-5580 Recap question about the transistors on the lists.

Using the recap list from: http://www.audiokarma.org/forums/in...w-if-there-are-any-known-issues.342822/page-2 I have a question about all the non-caps that are listed.

Here are the parts I currently don't have in stock and I have an order going in soon. The unit works fine. Curious if all of these devices (the diodes, transistors and resistors) should be replaced in a working unit. I know about the need to exorcise the 725s from the unit but are the other devices in need of a refresh now, too? There is nothing listed for the pair of 2SK30s on the flat amp.

The replacement components in the lists are for repair purposes. The comprehensive list you have is probably from MTF's personal files.
The 2SK30AW's are JFETS. Not easily found and replaced, only if needed for a repair.
The 725's most definitely replace and other problematic transistors as well. The 725's are the only ones I see in this list.
The PS is the only place I might splurge and replace the diodes and transistors. Some sets like the 1250, 1010 and the 1980 will get the full treatment on the stabilizer board or power supply.

2sk30 fets are not available except as new old stock so no one replaces unless they are not functioning. Since transistors are failing on these units, I tend to replace all of them. The transistors listed are also more robust and should last longer especially in high heat areas like the power supply board and the power amp.

Thanks guys. I'll take a look at the unit and see what the boards look like and if excessive heat is apparent, I'll add some of these devices to the list. Otherwise, I'll keep the info available if there are any issues. Of course, it will be a week or so before I place the order as I want to look over a few other units and place just one order. More comments are welcome for sure.

One thing I might add is all the transistors in the list are great replacements for other sets. Not just the Pioneers.
Look at the quantity discounts on the transistors. Buy five for the same as 10.
