SX-9100 Fuse Question

Kind of a follow up to a previous post. My Ebay purchase came and it is
Beautiful. Even in the original box and styrofoam. (pics in a few days)
Like usual with anything used I opened it up and gave the pots and switches
a shot of Deoxit. Then closed it up and turned it on. Great until I turned the Tone Defeat ON.
A little static and the protection circuit clicked in.
This was after DC offset was checked and OK'd.
I opened it up again to spay the Tone Defeat switch a 2nd time when I noticed one of the fuses was missing!?
I don't have a manual yet but have ordered one.
I put in a 1 amp fuse and tried it again and it works perfect.
My Question is how it could work without the fuse? Even the offset was
-1+3Mv on each channel.
The Tone Defeat switch now works OK also.
Here is a pic of the fuse that was missing.

Most bizzare, txsviking. I can't imagine why the fuse would be missing in the first place unless it had some kinda problem with the previous owner that was related to a dirty switch before it was cleaned by you :scratch2: but as long as it's working now I guess all is well. That is one very sweet amp and I'm sure you're gonna love it. I've owned two of them and I couldn't live without the one I have now. When you get a chance show us some pics. I for one can never get enough of looking at a beautifull 9100. Here's a thread with some life size pics of my minty 9100 :D

Thanks Grayhouse for the link to your picture thread.
Great Pitures!
Mine is virtualy its twin. Very clean.
Its just odd that it would work without the fuse??
As a side note, I did freak when I saw there were no pre-main jumpers.
But then I saw the switch!
