Tape-based play list

A cassette recorded off of the air in 1978, from Ramstein AFB, Germany. This is a recording of Radio Luxembourg, which is distinctly London-British of its day. This station started as a sort of pirate station, back when the BBC had a radio monopoly on the Isles, so there was no commercial broadcasting. This provoked folks to fire up a station in Luxembourg, and aimed it at the Isles, selling advertisements and such to British companies. In '78 the pirate days were over, but the signal aiming was still going on, and signal strength was good enough to enjoy after nightfall.

This tape brings back all kinds of memories...

Enjoy,
Rich P

My CD/LP/TAPE Collection

Listening to a mixed blues tape I recently made based on five years of listening notes. Two and a half hours of blues may be too much? Recorded on my Sony ATR-5003 with a 12.5” reel of Maxell UD-35 tape using two track and 7.5 ips. All sources were FLAC 16/44 thru the Modwright Elyse with Mullard CV-2493 output tubes.

Love the blues!
