Tascam 32 should I fix it? What's the scoop?

Hey Guys I picked up a Tascam model 32. It's a little worse for wear& doesn't work are these worth fixing up? I just fixed a TEAC A1250S & it definitely has the looks I like compared to this drab Tascam .Also what is with this flip up head cover & mirror thingy? Thanks Jackson

The Tascam 32 is a pretty nice deck. IMO, it’s worth fixing up for sure. I had one for a while - there are nicer 2-track 7.5/15 ips decks, but the 32 can sound great if it’s restored and aligned/calibrated properly.

The tascam 32 is a “budget” 2 track pro recorder. It’s a good deck when in good condition. I used to own one in my 20’s and made some stellar recordings on it.
The flip up mirror looking thing is not the vanity mirror but the head hum shield.

I have a 32, and I love it. I record on it using 15 ips, and DBX, and the recordings are stellar. Yes, I would definitely restore it.
