Tchaikovsky´s Symphonies Recommendation

I have this collection of Tchaikovsky´s Symphonies. The quality is great, but since the (Decca) recordings are from between 1962 and 1966, there is some noticeable hiss during the quiet passages when played at a relatively high volume.

Can anyone recommend a better recording? Maybe something all digital (DDD)?

Rostropovich cycle.
Nothing else will do.
A great Russian musician working on the music of a great composer from St Petersburg.

Listen to "winter dreams", you might as well be there, in the great white winter desert between Tver, Dostoevski's Staraya Russa, Pskov, Gatchina and Hermitage!

For the last three, please consider the recordings that Rozhdestvenski made in the 80's for MCA with the London Symphony Orchestra. These are DDD recordings with incredible impact, but not so easy to track down and available in both CD and LP formats, IIRC (I've got the CDs). There is a previous complete cycle by the same conductor made in Russia, very valuable but with inferior sound quality.

I just listened to the first movement of his first Symphonie from this CD:

There seemed to be less, if any, hiss; but it is generally slower and doesn´t seem so powerful.

I prefer my Markevitch recording.

I´ll keep my eyes open for the ones you guys mentioned.
