I have a Teac 6010gsl that I just finished rebuilding. Mechanically it is working fine, but after making a recoding, the vocals are distorted when words starting a "S" are sung. It sounds like a radio station off frequency. I also have a 4010gsl that does the same thing. I recorded a tape on an Akai and played it back on both machines and it played back with out any problems. I tried changing the Bias and EQ settings on the Teacs, but high frequencies were still distorted. Both decks are over 40 years old and I've read here about replacing the electrolytic capacitors. Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
