Technics RS-673 cuts out briefly during play

Got this deck a few months ago in like new condition with good belts. It works well but in play mode it will suddenly cut out a couple of times per side of a cassette. It's like very short power cuts that cause the heads to retract for a fraction of a second and then re-engage and continue play.
Could this be a cold solder point somewhere, or a bad component maybe?

Yeah, I can hear that solenoid when the deck does that : two rapid loud clacks.
