Technics SL-1200G/GAE Voltage Compatibility

I am curious as to the voltage/frequency compatibility of the new Technics SL-1200G/GAE turntables. In other words, can a model sold in the UK also work in the US? It would seem with a switching power supply that it may be possible to simply change the power cable or connector. Does anyone have any experience and/or knowledge about this?

I have the 1200G and mine is 120v 60hz only. There's no switch to change voltage/frequency on mine. So I would think UK models won't work here.

Check with Technics, they may have a model that can be switch between 120 and 240 volt.

If not now they may be planning to come out with one later.

There were sometimes international model of well received production models.

Hong Kong and some Tokyo, Kobe stores use to get them for the international tourist trade.

The dual voltage model would be the one I would get, even if it cost a bit more.

Confirmed. The model number is SL-1200GEG-S. I picked up a couple from a dealer in the UK. You do have to provide your own U.S. compatible power cable. It comes with three other European power cables with different wall plugs, but none that will work in the U.S. BYOC....
