I saw that. Obviously, when this was done, a 25wpc tube amp was old news. Whoever put this together undoubtedly thought they had a major upgrade. And you never know - the amp could have been a basket case to begin with.

Fast forward three decades and it's . . . well, junk.
 
That's a lot of transistors. Might be good for 200w/ch. It may not be junk, but definitely not a collectors item. The ship of Theseus sails on...
I can only hope that the topology is electrically sound, and that it remains useful, and not dangerous or anything.

I googled "tiger amp" and found this......

It wasn't 74, probably 71 or 72 and a Tiger catalog was brought into a polysci class I had to take......bunch of schoolboys being fan boys that day.......

Somehow this unit strikes me a a weird bounding between a tiger and a Bonfigliaro design......a tiger and godzilla hybrid, lord save us all from smoke inhalation.......

Boy,those RCA 40409/40410 transistors really were a popular driver choice in that era!
